Halloween

We spent Halloween down in Orangeville at my dad's house. The kids were so excited to go trick or treating with their cousins. McCoy and Landon were probably done after hitting about ten houses, but we pushed them on (I'm not sure why). We didn't pass very many trick or treaters throughout the night so most of the houses were giving out hands full of candy. The kids returned home with their bags filled to the brim. Too bad mom had to take them away soon after.

Babies at the Zoo

This is a little late. For Landon's birthday we decided to visit all the new babies at the Hogle Zoo. They were so cute. At the time, we had my sister's kids with us while she was in the hospital having her baby. Nate took the day off of work to go with us and I was so glad because he was a big help keeping track of everyone. I dressed both of my boys in orange and her two kids in green so that I only had to look for two colors. We also met up with Nate's mom and sister. All of the kids had a great time.

Nate and Landon

Baby elephant (Sooo Cute!)

Baby snow leopards

Baby tigers

Baby giraffe

Max, Katelyn, Landon, McCoy and Mason (You would have thought I was crazy trying to get All the kids to look at me at the same time. This was the best I got).

The penguins were the boys favorite. They were swimming around and really active.

Baby Announcement... It's a GIRL

I thought I would finally announce that I'm going to have a baby in February and it's a GIRL. I was a little shocked to find out. I thought for sure I was having another boy. In fact, I asked the ultra sound tech to check again because I couldn't believe it. I'm really excited. Nate and the boys are excited too. McCoy and Landon couldn't understand how they were going to see inside my stomach without cutting me open. Landon kept asking if they were going to open me up to take the baby out and then put it back. I told him that they just use a special machine to look inside mommy's tummy to check on the baby. He still had a hard time comprehending what I told him. I couldn't think of any other way to explain it. I had boy names pick out so now I need to come up with a girl one. Landon said we should just name her "Baby Sister" - so cute.

Funny Things Kids Say # 3

As we're driving down the road...

McCoy - "Mom, when are we going to get a pet"

Mom - "I not sure. What do you want?"

McCoy - "Maybe we could get a hamster, or a big spider or a snake?"

Mom - "Hmm... wouldn't you like a puppy?"

McCoy - "No, because they poop all over the grass and then I would have to clean it up".

This made me laugh. I wonder where he would have got that from??

Happy Birthday Landon!

My little Landon turned 3 on September 11th. He mentions to me all the time that he is not a baby anymore. He really is a big boy and my little sweetheart. All he has wanted for the past month is monster trucks and motorcycles. I guess he has decided to follow in his brothers footsteps. Here are some things to know about Landon...
...Favorite color is green - no surprise since this is McCoy's as well. He likes to ride four wheelers and ride his new (dirt bike) bike . Looks up to his brother, McCoy, and pretty much does whatever he does. I would have to say that he is a daddy's boy and thinks Nate is on top of the world. He also loves to go down to Papa's house and visit the farm. Landon is still shy around others and very sensitive. He is a very important part of our family and I couldn't imagine life without him. I love him very much. Happy Birthday!

McCoy's first day of school

Last week McCoy started preschool again. This time he was really excited to see his friends that he met last year. There are a lot more boys in his class than girls so it will be interesting to see how well this class does together. Landon wanted to go with McCoy to school and was a little upset when he realized that he couldn't. He was okay once I got him a drink and a free balloon from the store. It will be good for Landon and I to have some one on one time together while McCoy is away. The funny thing is Landon starts asking if it is time for us to pick McCoy up only about a half hour after we drop him off. I guess I'm not as fun as his brother especially when I drag Landon around shopping with me.

Dinosour Park in Ogden

Last week we decided to visit the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. I have never been and didn't know what to expect. My boys were really excited to walk around all the pathways and see the different dinosaurs. I think they have a new interest in dinosaurs now. Afterward, we had a snack and let the kids play at the playground. They didn't want to leave when it was time to go. Definitely a place to visit once during the summer when the kids are bored at home.

Emery County Parade

This is a bit late, oh-well. A couple of weekends ago, we attended the Emery County Parade in Castle Dale with my family. There is nothing like small town parades. The floats were throwing candy and the children on the sidelines kept inching closer and closer to the middle of the street. At one moment when a semi truck rolled through I was a little nervous and made my kids take a couple of steps back, but there were some kids who were standing right by the tires - really crazy and lots of fun.
