Dinosour Park in Ogden

Last week we decided to visit the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. I have never been and didn't know what to expect. My boys were really excited to walk around all the pathways and see the different dinosaurs. I think they have a new interest in dinosaurs now. Afterward, we had a snack and let the kids play at the playground. They didn't want to leave when it was time to go. Definitely a place to visit once during the summer when the kids are bored at home.

Emery County Parade

This is a bit late, oh-well. A couple of weekends ago, we attended the Emery County Parade in Castle Dale with my family. There is nothing like small town parades. The floats were throwing candy and the children on the sidelines kept inching closer and closer to the middle of the street. At one moment when a semi truck rolled through I was a little nervous and made my kids take a couple of steps back, but there were some kids who were standing right by the tires - really crazy and lots of fun.

McCoy - My little "dare devil"

McCoy decided he no longer needed training wheels on his bike so Nate took them off. He did so great and I was so proud of him. Then he started trying to do tricks, skid marks and pop-a-wheelies. He is now asking for us to move to a house with a bigger back yard so he can have a dirt track in the back. I wonder how I am supposed to protect him when he wants to do things that are so dangerous. I wish my little boy would stay little for a while longer. I do foresee the emergency room in our future. BTW, he is now required to wear his bike helmet at ALL times.

Fishing with Papa

This last weekend we went down to Orangeville to visit and attend the Castle Dale rodeo. On Saturday, while Nate went to help my brother gather cows on the mountain, we decided to go fishing with Papa. We went to Potters Pond up Cottonwood Canyon. The fishing was a little slow in the beginning, but with some patience and changing the bait a couple of times the fish eventually started biting. McCoy and Landon mostly practiced casting their poles in and out of the water.

Papa let McCoy rill in the first fish. It was a little small so McCoy attempted to throw it back in the water, but instead dumped it in the mud and sent it into shock. The fish never recovered so we kept it.

My dad, Heather (my step-sister), McCoy and Landon with the catch of the day. We kept a total of 4 fish.

Water FUN!

On a hot summer day we decided to go with some friends to the Riverton park to play. They have a really fun water area where the kids can run around and get wet. My boys had a lot of fun. One of the best benefits about this place is it's FREE.

Jewkes Family Campout

Last weekend we went camping with my family and had a fun time. It was great to be together and hang out with everyone. We camped near Willow Lake so the guys did lots of fishing. We also enjoyed four-wheeling on some great trails. At one point we had eleven four-wheelers between us. Definitely plenty for all who wanted to ride. The kids had enough helmets for each to wear and wanted someone to take them for rides all day long. Our camp included five trailers, three tents and a 50 gallon drum of water - yeah for flushing toilets and warm showers. The weather was really nice for the most part and I had to keep putting sunscreen on the boys and I, although, we still ended up getting a little burnt. I enjoyed being around my family and can't wait to go again.

Our beautiful camp

We barrowed a 12x14 canvas tent to sleep in from Nate's buddy. There was so much space for us that we decided we need buy one of our own.

The little kids loved camping and had so much fun with each other

The favorite hang-out spot for the kids was on the fourwheelers. We had to make sure we didn't leave the keys in them for fear of a little one walking away with it.

Nana brought water guns for all the kids. They loved filling them with water and shooting each other. Definitely a big hit.
