Ice Fishing

Last weekend we went ice fishing with my dad. This was the first time I have ever been and I actually had a fun time. I expected it be really cold, but amazingly the day warmed up and ended up being a beautiful day. When we first pulled up to Mill Site, the lake didn't look frozen. Stepping onto the ice was a little scary because it was so clear you could see the ground. The ice ended up being about 8 inches thick. Once we got out there, it still was little scary hearing the ice creaking around us. We had a little luck fishing. My dad caught two fish and McCoy caught two fish. Another fish took off with Nate's pole in the water. He was more bummed about missing the big fish than loosing his pole. The boys had a fun time sliding around on the ice and even Bailey was happy to be outside in the fresh air.

Monster Truck Show

Every year, the boys beg to go to the Monster Truck Rally. So we found a babysitter for Bailey and took the boys to their show. They absolutely loved watching the trucks jump high and smash the cars. This is our third time going and I was a little disappointed in the location. The previous two occasions were at the Delta Center and the Rio Tinto Stadium. This time it was held at the Maverik Center. There was not enough room on the floor for the trucks to really do anything. Two of the trucks broke down leaving only four to put on a show of which had one driver who was new to driving and didn't really know what he was doing... BUT, the boys didn't notice a problem and had fun cheering for their favorite truck to win- Big Foot.

Christmas

This kids dressed in their Christmas best

They were so excited to open one present on Christmas Eve, but were so disappointed to find out it was just pajamas. They were crying and throwing the boxes around. It was actually really funny. Nate and I laughed so hard. Once they got over their temper tantrum, they put on their pajamas and were happy. Before going to bed, the boys put out cookies and milk for Santa and left carrots for the reindeer.

On Christmas morning, everyone was happy since they got what they had asked for. The boys received sleds, scooters, pillow pets, light sabres and a hot wheels power set. It's very convenient that they want the same things. I wonder how long that will last? Bailey got a little walker and loved pushing it around. Although, she would have been completely happy just playing in the wrapping paper.

Happy 6th Birthday McCoy

McCoy has FINALLY turned six. He literally has been counting down the days for a long time. Somethings to know about McCoy... he LOVES to WRESTLE with his dad. He can't go to bed at night without having at least one wrestling session. He is a very social boy and loves to hang out with his friends and cousins. He also likes to TEASE his brother and sister (wonder where he gets that from??). His favorite food is CHICKEN NUGGETS, which is funny because he can't stand eating any other type of meat. He also loves sour cream and ketchup. We can usually get him to eat anything if we cover it with one of those items. McCoy would also eat SUGAR all day long if I let him. He is pretty good at figuring out electronics, GAMES and other puzzles. He can be really SENSITIVE at times but mostly is an all-around rough and tumble little boy.
.
McCoy has the privilege of having his birthday within a week of his dads so we combined and celebrated both of them with family on Sunday.

One of the items that McCoy has wanted for a while is a BB Gun. We got him a Red Ryder with goggles to wear so he "doesn't shoot his eye out". Of course we had to get Landon goggles as well.

This year I let McCoy have his very first friend party. We took about 8 little boys to Classic Fun Center. They had pizza, cake and ice cream. Got to ride their scooters around on the rink and played in the Blast Zone. Boy did he have a fun night.

In all of the fun, I didn't get a picture of McCoy riding around on his scooter with his friends so here is one of Landon

First snow storm of the season

In November we had our first snow storm of the season. Because it was really wet snow and the trees hadn't lost all of their leaves, the snow was so heavy that lots of branches fell off in our street and neighborhood. The boys had a good time playing in the snow and even Bailey loved touching snow for the first time.

Family Pictures

Thanks to my awesome sister-in-law, Tasha Jewkes, for taking our pictures. She did a great job.
