Idaho Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend we went to visit my Grandma McBride who lives in Victor, ID. Every year the whole family gathers to work and have fun. This year the goal was to replace the fence that borders her property. It was so much fun to visit and see everyone. The only problem was with the spring run-off, there was water everywhere. The kids were in heaven and their parents were going crazy trying to keep them out. Luckily, we went the whole weekend without any major incidents. I love visiting Victor. My mom grew up here and everything reminded me of her. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of this place. I'm glad we went.

MUD!

On Friday I was upstairs cleaning my bathroom while the boys were out playing in the backyard. After I finished I went out to check on them and this is what I found...

McCoy and Landon decided it would be fun to fill up their sand buckets with water and dump it in their sand box to make mud. By the time I arrived on the scene they had discarded their shorts because "they were dirty" and were running around in their underwear. It made for a great picture. I told them to enjoy themselves now because this was not going to happen again.

Day 2
Well, apparently the boys had so much fun playing in the mud two days before that they wanted to do it again. Yesterday, I told the boys that they could play outside, but they had to STAY OUT of the mud and water. I went out to check on them a little while later and instead of dumping buckets of water into the sand box they decided to just turn on the hose so that they could get more water in. This time they were completely naked and were having a monster truck rally in the mud pit. I didn't know whether to laugh or yell. I can already tell we are going to have our hands full this summer.

Kite flying - Take Two

A couple of days ago the wind was blowing pretty hard so we decided to go to the park and try our hand at flying kites again. It worked. It ended up being a perfect kite flying day. I think Nate had just as much fun or maybe more fun than the boys. The wind was blowing so much that at one point I thought one of the kites was going to fly away and take Landon with it. Lots of fun!

Let's go fly a KITE...

The boys received kites for Easter. They were so excited and wanted to fly them as soon as possible. Once the weather warmed up a little, Nate took them outside to try. The wind wasn't blowing much so Nate ended up holding up the kite more than flying it. McCoy and Landon still had a good time and absolutely love spending time with their dad.

Happy Easter

I know this is just a little bit late, but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter! Easter is one of my favorite holidays that I look forward to it every year. Our family's holiday started the previous weekend when we went down to my dad's house to hang out and watch conference. It's always so much fun when my siblings and I get together. Our children can't wait to see each other and always look forward to it. I just wish the weather had been just a little bit warmer.

Our traditional Bubble blowing contest

If there is dirt, my boys will find it. Digging holes in Nana's garden is so fun.

We let the kids make sugar eggs. This was our first time and the finished product turned out so cute.

On Saturday, We had a BBQ at my house with family. After lunch the kids had an Easter egg hunt. My boys didn't really care so much about the eggs, but more for the candy inside.

Couch Cushions

Oh Heavens! What am I to do? My boys love to take my couch cushions off several times daily and play with them. They make forts, trucks, slides, trampolines or whatever else with them. The cushions seem to be off more than on the couch. I have told the boys over and over again to please leave the cushions alone, but apparently I am not scary enough for them to think twice about it. What to do?
